Women's Basketball Drops to 1-2 with Loss to Tigers

BABSON PARK, Fla.- In their second contest at the SSAC/Sun Conference Championships, the Southeastern University women's basketball team fell to 1-2 on the season with the narrow 71-69 loss to Stillman College.

The offense struggled out of the gate as they would end the first quarter with a 12-11 deficit behind a 2-12 effort from the field and 0-7 effort from three-point range. Southeastern outscored the Lions 15-11 in the second period with Raegan Linster registering six points and six rebounds in the second quarter alone.

Linster would continue her momentum into the third period, securing the double-double with 11 more points and four more rebounds. Anja Knoflach was perfect in quarter three going 3-3 from the field and 2-2 from distance to record eight points and help edge Stillman 26-25.

A good three-pointer by Linster with just 23 seconds on the clock would bring the Fire within one but two missed opportunities in the final six seconds would cause the Fire to drop their second consecutive contest.

Linster would conclude the contest with a team-high 25 points and 15 rebounds while Knoflach also posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Southeastern will be back in action against Ave Maria on November 12th on the road at 2 p.m.
