LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern's men's basketball fell to an even 3-3 and 1-2 in Sun Conference play tonight with an 82-74 loss to Thomas University.
The Fire offense was firing on all cylinders to open the contest as the Fire posted a field goal percentage of 50% and a three-point percentage of 54% after going 7-13 from distance to outscore the Night Hawks 45-35 in the first 20 minutes.
Reggie Mesidor posted 13 points through the first 20 minutes after going 5-8 from the field while Sean Shore would pick up nine rebounds before halftime.
The Fire offense went cold in the final period, shooting 38% from the field and converting just two of their 12 three-point attempts to be outscored 47-32 in the second half.
Southeastern concluded the night shooting 44% from the field and 36% from three-point range while the Night Hawks bested those numbers with a field goal percentage of 48.5 and three-point percentage of 39%.
Mesidor matched his first half total of 13 points in the second half to conclude the night with a team-high 26 points, going 10-20 from the field and 4-10 from beyond the arc. Shore posted another double-double with 17 rebounds and 15 points while Jalen Mull also tallied 15 points with eight rebounds and four assists.
The Fire will be back in action on November 23
rd as they take on Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. at 3 p.m.
