LAKELAND, Fla.- After a halt in action due to the effects of Hurricane Ian, the Southeastern University men's soccer team will return to action this week, opening the 2022 Sun Conference season with a Saturday road contest against the No. 4 ranked St. Thomas University at 7 p.m.

The 4-2-2 Fire have found the back of the net 30 times thus far this season, outscoring their opponents 30 to 13. On average, the experienced squad has recorded 3.75 goals per game off a .462 shot on goal percentage and 21.1 shots per game.

The Fire have nine individuals with multiple goals on the season while
Gianluca Contegno and
Edoardo Venutolo lead the way with four each.
Lucas Nishioka has been a part of six Fire goals thus far with a team-high four assists and two goals while
Marcello Cruz has assisted on three goals. Jonothan Wojciki has recorded the most minutes in goal for the Fire, securing 16 saves on 27 shots faced and a 2-2-1 record while
Carlos Curado has registered a 2-0-1 record.

The Fire will then face their greatest challenge of the season as they take on the No. 4 ranked team in the NAIA and SUN favorite, St. Thomas University, who will begin the week with a perfect 4-0 record (1-0 SUN). Collectively, the Bobcats netted 18 goals (4.5 per game) and have yet to allow a goal.

The Bobcat offense has been left to four different players with Fernando Arzeno recording four goals and an assist while Mark Oghogho, Felipe Madero and Guido Cacciabue have all recorded three goals and two assists each. The graduate keeper Franco Acerbi has yet to be scored on in 318 minutes of action, securing 11 saves and a 3-0 record.
