Men's Soccer Takes on Lions in Final Regular Season Contest

LAKELAND, Fla.- The 9-4-3 (4-2-1 SUN) Southeastern University men's soccer team will begin their final week of the regular season with a home contest on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Florida Memorial and will conclude the week hosting the Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match on Saturday.
 
After a 1-1 week, the Fire currently sit at fourth in the Sun Conference and average three goals and 18.4 shots per game. Collectively, the Fire have found the back of the net 48 times and have held opponents to 22 goals. Edoardo Venutolo sits at the top of the offensive leaderboard for the Fire with nine goals and four assists for 22 total points while Gianluca Contegno has posted six goals and two assists. Carlos Curado and Jonathan Wojciki have combined for five shutouts on the season with Curado holding a .762 save percentage and Wojciki posting a .528 save percentage.
 
The Lions of Florida Memorial (3-7-4, 2-3-3 SUN) are currently on a two-game winning streak with wins over Florida College and Warner last week. Throughout the season, the Lions have been outscored 32-29 and average 2.07 goals per game on 12.8 shots per game. Brad Tulley and Alejandro Caicedo have combined for over half of the Lions' goals with Tulley netting nine and assisting on four and Caicedo netting eight and assisting on another. Joshua Aranzazu and Juan Palacio have split time in goal for the Lions with Aranzazu starting in seven contests and Palacio starting in five. Aranzazu holds a save percentage of .617 with 29 saves and Palacio holds a .711 save percentage with 27 saves.
 
Saturday's Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinal matchup will be determined later in the week with Southeastern awaiting the results of other SUN contests.
