THOMASVILLE, Ga.—Southeastern got on the board first in its final regular season road soccer match, but the hosts answered back with five unanswered to come away with a 5-0 victory.
The loss brought the Fire to 9-4-3 on the season and 4-2-1 in Sun Conference play.
Skylar Funk's fourth goal of the season in the 12
th minute of play put Southeastern up 1-0. Just 34 seconds later, Thomas tied the match with a goal by Connor Parry then took a 2-1 lead in the 16
th minute of play by Cavan Daley. Parry added a second goal in the 26
th minute to make it 3-1 at halftime.
Parry and Daley added goals in the second half in the 50
th and 76th minutes, respectively.
Thomas held a 13-9 advantage in shots, but just a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The Fire will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Florida Memorial at 5 p.m.
