Two Road Trips Lie Ahead this Week for Men's Soccer

LAKELAND, Fla.- After completing two shutouts last week, the Southeastern University men's soccer team (8-3-3, 3-1-1 SUN) will look ahead to two away contests this week as they travel to Webber International on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. contest and conclude the week with a Saturday contest against Thomas University at 1 p.m.
 
Defense has been the strong point for the Fire thus far this season as they have completed a shutout in four of their last five contests, totaling seven on the year. Carlos Curado and Jonathan Wojciki have been key contributors to the defensive prowess with Curado collecting a 4-1-2 overall record, .762 save percentage, and three shutouts. Wojciki has accumulated a 4-2-1 record with a .607 save percentage and 17 saves.
 
Offensively, the Fire have outscored their opponents 45-16 with 3.2 goals per game and a .455 shot on goal percentage. Edoardo Venutolo has recorded a team-high eight goals and has recorded three assists, all which came last week. Gianluca Contegno and Lucas Nishioka each hold 13 total points with Contegno recording six goals and an assist and Nishioka recording four goals and assisting on five.
 
The Warriors of Webber International hold a current record of 8-2-1 (3-2-1 SUN) and are coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 5 ranked Keiser University. The Warrior offense has found the back of the net 40 times this season with 3.64 goals per game and a .504 shot on goal percentage. Joseph O'Sullivan sits as the leading scorer for the Warriors with seven and two assists. Gianni Honsel has been strong in goal for the Warriors, allowing just nine goals on 41 shots faced for a 5-2-1 overall record.
 
The Night Hawks have accumulated a 6-5-4 overall record and 3-2-2 SUN record and are coming off a 4-0 victory over Warner University. Averaging 1.67 goals and 13.7 shots per game, the Night Hawks have netted 25 goals with Cavan Daley's four leading the way. Jorge Gonzalez has posted a .705 save percentage in his 11 games played with nine goals allowed on 30 shots faced.
