LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern remained unbeaten in Sun Conference play, downing St. Thomas in its first game in 2022 by the count of 74-55 to improve to 16-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.

Angela Perry recorded her 12
th 20-point game of the season and fourth in a row with 20 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block in just 28 minutes on the floor. The Rochester, Ill. native was 9-of-12 from the field to lead all scorers.
As a team, the Fire connected on nine of their first 16 shots from the field to build a 22-16 lead at the end of the first quarter. The defense shined in the second quarter, holding the Bobcats (7-9, 3-3 SUN) to just 2-of-14 from the field and seven turnovers to help take a 37-22 lead into halftime.
Perry dominated the third quarter, making all three of her shots and pulling down three rebounds to help the Fire build a 57-33 lead through 30 minutes of play.
The lead grew to as much as 29 with 7:05 to play after a pair of
Leilah Vigil layups and a free throw by
Raegan Linster to go up 64-35. Vigil finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Marta Aranda added 12 points, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers, and had four steals, three rebounds, three assists, and three rebounds.
Rebecca Cook added a double-double off the bench, scoring 10 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and had four assists and three steals.
The Fire return to action next Saturday at home against Keiser University at 5 p.m.
