LAKELAND, Fla.- After a light holiday stretch for the Southeastern University women's basketball team which saw a three week stretch and only one contest which resulted in a tie for the Fire's largest margin of victory of the season with their 108-27 victory over Brescia University on December 30
th, the Fire return to action this week with a Sun Conference matchup against St. Thomas University at home on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Bobcats of St. Thomas currently hold an overall record of 7-8 (3-2 SUN) with their last contest taking place on December 19
th against the No. 12 ranked Indiana Tech where they fell by a score of 78-62 to advance their losing streak to five. As a team, the Bobcats average 68.9 points per contest backed by a 39.9 field goal percentage and a 68.1 free throw percentage. Defensively, the Bobcats record 38.3 rebounds per game.

Brooke Bogatz and Kasey Gagan have been the top offensive performers for the Bobcats with Bogartz leading the team with 196 points and an average of 13.1 per game and Gagan with 192 points of her own through 15 games played. Chrystal Pressley has captained the Bobcat defense with a team high 136 rebounds and an average of 9.1 per contest.

The No. 4 ranked Fire have continued their dominating legacy thus far in the 2021-22 season as they come into the weekend with a 15-1 record and multiple national rankings. The unit currently ranks No. 1 nationally in field goal percentage (50.1) and three point percentage (41.8) and fall No. 2 nationally in points with 1378 while their 86.1 points per contest and 20.8 assists per contest are good enough to land at No. 4 nationally.

The Fire are led by graduate transfer
Angela Perry who has recorded 328 points through 16 games played for an average of 20.5 points per game and ranks No. 2 nationally in field goals after going 134-231 from the field. Perry also leads the team in rebounds with 113.
Marta Aranda and
Tahanee Bennell have been the Fire's top playmakers with Aranda leading the team with 67 assists and Bennell with 66.
