WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—The third-ranked Fire wrestling team posted a successful day at the Seahawk Duals, hosted by Keiser University.
Southeastern knocked off Montreat 27-15 and won three of its four extra matches against Truett-McConnell.
The Fire trailed 9-7 after four matches, getting bonus points at 125 from
Trevor Borom with a 12-4 major decision and a sudden victory win by
Tanner Kuketz at 141.
Trace Braun turned things around with a major decision over 15
th-ranked Taquel Young recording four takedowns and four nearfall points in a 15-4 win.
Dominick Lonazzo added a 14-1 major decision at 165 and Jonathan Vanderbilt and
Caleb Hardeman each recorded first period pins.
Konner Schluckebier, Zachary Cook, and
Abel Ambriz won their exhibitions by technical fall, fall, and major decision, respectively.
The Fire host the defending national champion Life Eagles on Friday at 7 p.m.
