LAKELAND, Fla.—A pair of second half goals helped the Fire come away with a 2-1 win over Life Saturday night.
Julian Hall's second goal of the season came on a cross from the right wing off the foot of reigning Sun Conference Player of the Week
Eduardo Venutolo and was hit into the near back corner to give the Fire a 1-0 lead in the 51
st minute.
Less than 10 minutes later,
Ben-Avir Espinal struck a ball towards the net and off of a sliding Life defender into the back of the net.
Life (1-2) found the back of the net in the 78
th minute and had a couple looks late but the Fire defense was able to keep the equalizer away. This included having to defend six second half corner kicks.
Carlos Curado made seven saves with five in the second half.
The Fire return to action on Thursday at Pensacola Christian.
