KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Southeastern University baseball team has officially been named the number one overall seed in the 10-team field of the 2021 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. This marks the highest ever seeding the Fire have received for the World Series.
Southeastern is making its third-straight trip to Lewiston after sweeping the NAIA Baseball Opening Round Lakeland Bracket 3-0. The Fire defeated Middle Georgia State 18-4 in the championship game at Chain O' Lakes Complex in Winter Haven to punch their ticket to Lewiston.
The top-seeded Fire will take on the winner Friday's matchup between No. 8 Keiser and No. 9 LSU-Shreveport. Southeastern's matchup will take place the following day on Saturday May 29 at 6:00 p.m. eastern.
