Box Score DAYTON, Tn. – In their last regular-season matchup of the year, Southeastern pulled out the win 1-0 over the Bryan Lions. While the game remained scoreless until nearing the 15-minute mark, the Fire had several shots throughout the game.
Ben-Avir Espinal had two shots in the first half, the first one missed wide and the second was stopped by Bryan goalkeeper Saahil Kapoor later in the half. Marcello Cruz also had a shot in the first half, but it was picked up by Kapoor.
In total, the Fire got off 15 shots and had six corner kicks. Junior goalkeeper Carlos Curado, the 6-6 native of Recife, Brazil, had five saves for his team.
It wasn't until 15:13 remained in the game that junior forward Eric Ugarte kicked a goal in to give the Fire the advantage and ultimately win the game. The goal was Ugarte's second on the year.
The win over Bryan College concludes Southeastern's regular season schedule, advancing their record to 14-6 on the year.
Monday, the NAIA National Championship field will be revealed as the Fire look for an at-large bid
