LAKELAND, Fla.- The Southeastern University women's tennis team fell to the No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex.

After dropping the doubles' point 3-0, the Fire looked to battle in singles' play. Although Indiana Wesleyan closed out the match quickly with wins at fourth, second, and fifth singles' lines to start out, SEU continued to fight.

At top-line singles, sophomore
Beatrice Letizia knocked off IWU's top competitor Maddie Bemisderfer, who is ranked No. 10 in the NAIA by the ITA. Letizia took the first set 6-3, dropped the second set 6-1, and won the third set tiebreaker 10-5.

Priscila Baptista took No. 39 Thais Mendez to three sets at No. 3 singles before falling in the tiebreaker 10-8.

SEU looks to bounce back on Friday, as the Fire head to the USTA National Campus in Orlando to take on the Point University Skyhawks. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
