Women’s Soccer Drops Overtime Affair at William Carey

Box Score HATTIESBURG, Miss.—Southeastern suffered its first loss of the season, losing in overtime to 2018 National Champion William Carey 2-1.
 
The Fire got on the board first when Makayla Peddycoart found the back of the net from the right wing less than 90 seconds into the match. Each team had nine shots in the first half with three of SEU's on target compared to one for the Crusaders.
 
Southeastern also had three corner kicks in the first half.
 
In the second, William Carey took 12 shots with eight on frame and tied the match in the 52nd minute. Southeastern was limited to four shots with none on frame in the second.
 
Southeastern had a decent look at a goal in overtime just 1:20 in, but the shot sailed wide. Just under two-and-a-half minutes later, the Crusaders ended the game with a goal.
 
The Fire return to action on Saturday at the University of Mobile.
