Box Score COCHRAN, Ga.—The Southeastern University men's soccer team came out on top in a back and forth first half against Middle Georgia State to win their 11
th game of the season 3-2.
Paulos Beraki got the scoring started for the Fire off a penalty kick when he powered the shot to the left of the keeper. MGA scored moments later to tie the game at one.
The Fire scored their second goal of the opening half when
Ben-Avir Espinal beat the keeper again to the lower left to tally his first goal of the season. The Knights again responded a few minutes later to even the score.
SEU scored their final goal of the half and the game when
Julian Hall found the back of the net off a free kick a few yards outside the box for his eighth goal of the season.
Despite allowing the two goals in the first half, goalkeeper
Jonathan Wojciki bounced back in the second half and came up with several key stops to preserve the Fire victory.
SEU (11-6, 5-5 TSC) continues their spring portion of the schedule Monday, February 15
th at Thomas University.
