Three-Point Shooting Lifts Men’s Basketball over Brewton-Parker

LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern connected on a season-best 21 3-pointers to come away with a 95-62 win over Brewton-Parker in its first game in its first of two classics this week.

Leading the effort from beyond the arc was Maine transfer Mykhailo Yagodin, who was 7-of-12 from 3-point land and had a team-best 21 points. Riley Matticks chipped in a season-best 14 points and was 4-of-6 on his 3-point attempts.

A 15-0 run by the Fire that kept the Barons off the scoreboard for seven minutes helped SEU establish early control of the game and a 22-2 lead with 11:16 remaining in the first. SEU closed the half on a 22-12 run to lead 50-22 at halftime.

Brewton-Parker's George Davey came alive in the second half, connecting on six of his seven 3-pointers in the game in the second 20 minutes to finish with 21 points. Aaron Jones was the catalyst in the second half for the Fire, scoring 11 points in his nine minutes.
