Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Southeastern University volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit, but ultimately fell to the RV St. Thomas University Bobcats in four sets in their regular season finale.
The Bobcats hit an impressive .455 in the opening set to help propel STU to a 25-14 taking of the opening set. SEU was unable to take advantage of a match high seven attack errors by St. Thomas in set number two by committing six miscues of their own, ultimately dropping the second set 25-19.
The Fire retaliated in the third set, hitting their match-best .239. Fire freshman outside hitter
Sandy Cao totaled six of her match-high 19 kills in the third set as the Fire downed the Bobcats 25-21 to trim the deficit to 2-1.
SEU senior setter
Emily Eurice played an integral part in the SEU bounce back, totaling 20 assists over the span of sets two and three and committing just one error.
Southeastern was able to knot up the fourth set multiple times in crunch time at 18-18 and 21-21. However, the Bobcats were able to get the late push to close out the match 25-23 in the final set.
Cao totaled 15 digs to go along with her 19 kills. Freshman
Emilia Harding has eight kills and 12 digs. Freshman libero
Holly Kaczmarek led the Fire with 26 digs. Eurice finished with 24 assists.
