THOMASVILLE, Ga.- The receiving votes Southeastern University men's basketball team continued the statement-making opening of their season tonight as they took down the Night Hawks of Thomas University on their home court by a score of 76-65 to advance to 6-0 on the season.

The Fire's shooting from beyond the arc in the first half was difficult for the Night Hawks to overcome as SEU opened up the game with three quick three pointers by three different players to aid the Fire to an 11-9 lead. Later in the half, the Night Hawks brought the game to a 28-28 tie but more impressive distance shooting would quickly give the Fire back their lead after
Ralph Diaz drained the Fire's fifth three pointer of the half to go up 31-30 with under five remaining. The Night Hawks managed to grab the lead with 2:54 before the half but the Fire secured two more baskets from the field to give them a 36-35 lead after the first 20 minutes. The Fire ended the half shooting 41% from three point range.

Riley Minix put together a five point run in the beginning of the second half to put the Fire up by 45-42 while registering three three pointers in the half and
Jordan Gorman putting up two more baskets from behind the arc to end the night 4-8 from three point range.
Reggie Mesidor rounded out the night for the Fire going 2-2 at the line to secure the Fire's 76-65 win. As a team, the Fire shot 46% from the field in the second half.

Minix ended the night with his second double-double of the week after recording 18 points and 16 rebounds.
Ralph Diaz also put together a solid performance coming just two rebounds short of a double-double with 16 points and eight rebounds.

 The Fire will next take on Rollins College in an exhibition on Tuesday in Winter Park, Fla. at 7 p.m.
