Box Score THOMASVILLE, GA. - The No. 10 Southeastern University women's soccer team came up with a 4-0 win against now 5-6 Thomas University in the Night Hawks Sun Conference Home Opener this Saturday.
The first half of the matchup was scoreless despite six-shot attempts collectively by Ramsey Watkins (1), Shara Randez (3), and Aisha Solorzano (2). A save by goalie Holly Eddins at minute 19 stopped the Night Hawks from gaining an early lead.
The Fire turned up the heat in the second half with three goals within seven minutes of each other. Shara Randez scored with a shot over the Night Hawks goalie in the 54th minute, Aisha Solorzano took advantage of a poor turnover in the 56th and slipped by the keeper, and Watkins with an assist from Solorzano scored in the 60th to create a 3-0 lead for the Fire. Ten minutes later at minute 70, senior Mashell Rodriguez found the back of the net to give SEU a final score of 4-0, blanking Thomas University.
The Fire return to play Thursday, October 14th at No. 22 St. Thomas University in Miami, Fla. at 7:00 pm.
