LAKELAND, Fla.- The RV Southeastern University men's soccer team dropped a Sun Conference match at home to the No. 8 St. Thomas University Bobcats 4-2 at the SEU Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Fire fell to 7-3-2, including 1-2-1 in SUN play.
St. Thomas put two goals past Southeastern in the first half, scoring in the 22nd and 33rd minutes to take a 2-0 advantage which the Bobcats would take into the locker room at the half.
The Fire responded with a pair of goals in the second half off the foot of graduate forward
Julian Hall, the first of which occurred in the 59th minute when Hall buried a ball from
Ben-Avir Espinal far post. Hall tied the game up 2-2 in the 65th minute un a solo effort.
However, the Bobcats responded with the go ahead goal just 58 seconds later to regain the lead 3-2. STU tacked on an insurance goal in the 81st minute to grow their advantage 4-2.
The Fire look to bounce back at home next Wednesday night versus the Florida National University Conquistadors in a non-conference match at 7:00 p.m.
