Women’s Basketball Finishes Montana Trip 3-0

BUTTE, Mont.—It was a quick turnaround for the Southeastern University women's basketball team in its final game of its season-opening trip to Montana.

Despite having gotten off the floor late Saturday night after winning at Carroll, the Fire put together a solid effort to grind out a 78-65 win at Montana Tech to complete the three-game swing unbeaten.

Marta Aranda was the key to the first half, scoring 12 of her 14 points in the first 20 minutes to help the Fire hold a 44-38 lead after 20 minutes of play.

In the second half, Angela Perry had 14 of her game-high 24 points to help the Fire come away with the win. Perry finished 10-of-18 from the field and added 10 rebounds.

Gabby Suarez added 16 points off the bench.

The Fire will play their first game at home on Saturday at 5 p.m. when they host NCAA Division II Barry for an exhibition game at 5 p.m.
