LAKELAND, Fla.- In a three set sweep, the Southeastern University volleyball took down the No. 1 team in the Sun Conference, Florida Memorial, by scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-20 to advance their overall record to 18-11 and 6-5 in TSC.

The Fire came ready to play on senior night and jumped to a 5-0 lead after four consecutive Fire kills by
Julia Alves,
Emilia Harding,
Sandy Cao, and
Kennedy Jones. A few points later the Fire would go on another run after two more kills by Harding as well as a service ace by
Holly Kaczmarek to put the Fire up 10-2. The Lions battled back to bring the set to a 13-13 tie after a string of Fire attack errors but the Fire managed to capitalize on seven late set errors by the Lions to take the set 25-16.

In the second set, the Fire again took advantage of the Lion errors as they jumped on their competition and took a 5-1 lead after four Lions errors. Harding and Alves each recorded two more kills within the next few rallies to bring the Fire lead to 12-5 and aid the Fire to the 25-19 win in the second set. The Fire hit .220 collectively in the second set and 14 kills.

The third and final set also went in favor of the Fire after an impressive .389 hitting percentage with 16 kills in the final set. Jones and Cao both collected two quick kills as the Fire jumped to a 7-2 lead and seemed to run away with the set and match after leading 16-5 but the Lions mounted a comeback after four consecutive kills and three consecutive Fire errors to bring the score to only a three point difference but the Fire managed to hold on to secure to victory.

The Fire ended the day with 44 kills and a .259 attack percentage. Cao led the Fire with 12 kills and 19 digs with Harding recording nine.
Jordyn Stiger registered three blocks with Alexandra Poslethwaite recording 35 assists and 11 digs.

th for the Fire as they take on the College of Coastal Georgia at home.
