West Palm Beach, Fla.- The Southeastern University football team travels to face Keiser after a tough at-home loss to Ave Maria this past Saturday.
The Keiser University Seahawks are 4-1 on the season and are currently ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. They are on a three-game winning streak with wins against Point (30-0), Florida Memorial (31-26), and Kentucky Christian (24-16). The Seahawks have not lost a game at home this season and their only loss was on the road to defending national champion Lindsey Wilson (34-2).
Quarterbacks Jack Strouse and Shea Spencer average 140.5 and 111 passing yards per game respectively with help from wide receiver Jerson Jacques totaling 308 receiving yards this season. Running back Marques Burgess has 731 rushing yards this season averaging 146.2 yards per game, and linebacker Byron Fraley has 17 tackles and 21 assists on the year.
After the 34-10 loss to Ave Maria, Southeastern moved to 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The lone touchdown last week came from Cooper Jones with an eight-yard pass to Jarred Romaelle.
Over the season, Marc Viechec and Khalid Scott led the Fire defense with 13 and 16 tackles along with 26 and 13 assists, respectively. Running back Lorine Parker averages 86.6 yards per game with 433 total this season, and quarterback Cooper Jones averages 190 per game totaling 950 yards this year.
The Fire have competed with the Seahawks three times are 1-2 in the matchup history with a win at home in 2018 (27-17), and two back-to-back losses in 2019 (42-29) and 2020 (31-28).
