LAKELAND, Fla.- This week the 7-3-2 Southeastern University men's soccer team will look to bounce back from two 4-2 losses last week as they take on Florida National at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and the Bees of SCAD in Savannah, Ga. on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Conquistadors of Florida National come into Wednesday with an overall record of 6-3-1 and a total 23 goals through 10 games played for an average of 2.3 goals per game and are coming off of a 1-0 victory over the No. 2 nationally ranked Keiser University. Benjamin Zamora, Blas Barrancos, and Constantino Higa all have registered three goals on the season with Higa also contributing to two more goals with two assists. In goal, Rodrigo Festuccia has registered 24 saves through seven games played allowing only eight. In the last matchup in the 2020 season, the Fire and the Conquistadors battled for the 90 regulation minutes only to be forced into two overtime periods with
Colin Horn netting the golden goal in the 105
th minute for the Fire to secure a 3-2 victory.
Ben-Avir Espinal and
AJ Davis also contributed to the hard-fought victory with a goal each.

The SCAD Bees have played their share of close matches this season with six of their ten games  ending in a tie or one goal margin giving them an overall record of 2-3-5. As a team, the Bees have tallied 11 goals with 69 shots on goal for a .476 shot on goal percentage. Phillip Holtgen leads the Bees with three goals through eight games while keeper Connor Friel has registered 34 saves with only eight goals allowed. The Fire last faced off against the Bees in the 2019 season where they took the 2-1 victory off of Espinal and Hall goals.

The Fire squad currently averages 2.75 goals per game and a .583 shot on goal percentage and has managed to get off 18.2 shots per match. After a three goal week,
Julian Hall became the Fire's leading scorer with seven through 10 games played and registered both Fire goals against No. 8 St. Thomas in the Fire's 4-2 loss. The Southeastern keepers,
Carlos Curado and
Jonathan Wojciki have combined for 41 saves on 64 shots faced and a save percentage of .651.
