Fire Dominate the Eagles in Impressive Team Win

Lakeland, Fla.- The Southeastern University Men's Soccer team showed depth and domination tonight during their 5-0 shutout against the Pensacola Christian Eagles. SEU saw goals by four different players in the 90 minute match.

The Fire came out of the gate strong with Julian Hall netting his third goal of the season only 4:36 into the match off of a free kick.

Southeastern capitalized on yet another Eagles foul in the 17th minute with Paulos Beraki scoring his first goal of the season, beating the keeper on a penalty kick. In a post-game interview Beraki said, "We came out focused and ready to execute the game plan our coach had given us and it showed in our success tonight."

Evandro Henrique also had his first goal of the season with 2:05 left in the first half. Henrique connected with the back of the net thanks to the double assist by Beraki and Bruno Conceicao.

The Fire were granted a gift to open up the second half in the form of an own goal from the Eagles to make it 4-0.

Conceicao also contributed to the 5-0 victory with his first goal of the season in the 71st minute of the match. Aitor Granero aided with the assist on the Conceicao goal.

Coach Clay Roberts stated, "We have a lot of new players starting to get into a rythym. Evandro Henrique and Bruno Conceicao and other new players are really starting to link up well and both were involved in goals tonight so it's really nice to have good possession and multiple people involved. Overall it was an excellent night for us."

The Fire are in action again September 23rd at Keiser University at 11 a.m.
