LAKELAND, Fla.—In their home opener against Sun Conference member Webber International, the Southeastern men's soccer team captured a 4-1 win to move to 2-0 in this young season. The Fire controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting the Warriors 9-4 in each half.
"We wanted to get some rhythm going, we haven't had a game where we've scored multiple goals so tonight was great for us," shared Fire head coach
Clay Roberts about his team's offensive outburst. "Really proud of our team, really proud of the effort, and really proud of the composure we showed tonight."
Southeastern scored first on a header by
Julian Hall just before the 19:00 minute mark in the first half. Joshua Ruckedschel assisted on the goal and the two would connect later in the half to put the Fire up 2-0 heading into halftime.
Hall commented on his first two goals of the season, "My main goal was just to get in front of the box, and when I get myself in the box I have to shoot and take attempts cause if you don't shoot you can't score."
Senior
