LAKELAND, Fla.—The Fire women's tennis team won their fifth consecutive match with a 5-0 victory over Aquinas.
Southeastern took the doubles point, winning two of the matches in a tiebreaker.
Beatrice Letizia and
Priscila Baptista won 7-6 (7-3) to secure the point at Line 1 after
Sharienne Ricardo and
Angelique Myrtil were a 6-1 winner at Line 2.
Bijelic Nadezda and
Kishaundah Romain won in the tiebreaker 7-5 to take the match 7-6.
Myrtil made it 2-0 Fire with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles, then was followed by Baptista's 6-2, 6-1 win to improve to 11-2. Letizia was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at No. 2 to pick up her 11
th win of the season, then Ricardo won 6-2, 6-0 at Line 1.
The Fire return to action on Wednesday against Bluefield State.
