LAKELAND, Fla.— The Southeastern men's basketball team struggled from the field while the Warner Royals rarely missed as the Fire dropped to 7-3 on the season and 3-2 in conference play with a 102-76 loss.
SEU shot 40% from the field and 37.9% from beyond the arc while Warner shot 54.1% from the floor with a 60.7% mark from 3-PT range. The Fire have now given up season-highs of 96 points and 102 points in back-to-back games.
Southeastern fought to stay within reach throughout the first half, never trailing by double digits until a three from Warner with 30 seconds left gave them a 55-43 lead heading into halftime.
Ralph Diaz and
Reggie Mesidor did their part on offense in the first half, each scoring 13 points and going 2-of-4 from 3-PT range. Mesidor finished with a season-high 24 points and added six rebounds and three assists.
Southeastern opened the second half strong and cut their deficit to eight with a three from senior
Isaiah Moody.
Warner would then go on a 22-5 run that gave them a commanding 88-63 lead with 6:22 left in the game.
Graduate center
Devon Ford chipped in seven points and five rebounds.
The Fire (7-3, 3-2 TSC) will look to get back on track when they face Ecclesia College on Friday at 4:00 pm.
