MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Fire battled and showed grit on the road in postseason play, however, the third-seeded Southeastern University men's soccer team exited The Sun Conference Tournament with a 2-0 loss to the second-seeded St. Thomas University Bobcats on the road in their semifinal match.
The first half of the match was a defensive battle, with both team's back lines excelling. Both the Fire and the Bobcats were only able to muster up two first-half shots each. Senior SEU goalkeeper
Jonathan Wojciki saved the lone shot on frame of the first half as both teams remained scoreless heading into the locker room.
The Bobcats found the go-ahead goal 59th minute, as Mark Oghogho put STU ahead 1-0. St. Thomas doubled its lead in the 68th minute when Fernando Arzeno netted his 10th goal of the season to put St. Thomas up 2-0.
The Fire held the Bobcats to just five shots throughout the match, however, SEU was only able to register four shots of their own.
Southeastern finished the fall portion of its season with a 10-6 overall record and a third-straight trip to The Sun Conference Semifinal.
