Box Score Brunswick, Ga.- The Southeastern University men's basketball team advanced their undefeated record to 5-0 (2-0 TSC) on the season after defeating the College of Coastal Georgia by a score of 86-68.

The Fire went down quickly to open the game against the Mariners but were able to answer and take control of the game early. Coastal Georgia's only lead of the game came 45 seconds into the game. After that it was all Fire as SEU seemed to run away with the game, never giving up the lead for the remaining time. With approximately 10 minutes remaining, the Mariners strung together a couple good possessions to bring the game within four but their efforts would prove to be in vain as the Fire then managed to put the game out of striking distance and secured their largest lead of the game at 22 with two minutes remaining in regulation. In the first half the Fire were able to convert 11 of their 26 field goal attempts and recorded a .516 field goal percentage in the second half.

As a team, the Fire outshot the Mariners with a .474 field goal percentage and also shot an impressive .500 at the arc. The Fire also posted a .692 free throw percentage going 18-26 from the free throw line. Reigning Freshman of the Year
Riley Minix recorded a double-double with a team high 21 points and 15 rebounds while also going a nearly perfect 6-7 on free throws.
Reggie Mesidor was also an offensive force for the Fire recording 20 points and shooting an impressive .625 from 3 PT range going five for eight.
Ralph Diaz and
Devon Ford also combined for 27 points and 10 rebounds.
