LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University men's basketball head coach
Kevin Lubbers announced his 2020-2021 schedule this morning.
Coach Lubbers had this to say about the schedule and how his team is preparing for the season, "The only game on the schedule we are focused on is game one on October 29
th. After that we will focus on the rest of them one at a time. This team is hungry, has a very narrow focus of what they want to accomplish on the floor, and is getting prepared to begin. Right now it is just one practice at a time steadily improving execution and sustaining effort and focus."
The 30-game slate kicks-off on the road at Florida College on October 29
th. The Fire are set for their home opener on November 5
th against Brewton Parker and host Southeastern Baptist two days later on November 7
th.
Southeastern starts Sun Conference play at home on November 12
th when they host Costal Georgia.
For the fifth straight season the Fire will travel to Kingsport, Tennessee to compete in The Show during Thanksgiving week. Southeastern takes on St. Francis (Ind.) on November 28
th before taking on Indiana University-East in what would have been the Fire's first round matchup of last season's NAIA National Tournament.
During Christmas Break the Fire will host Toccoa Falls and Virgin Islands on December 11
th and 12
th, respectively. Southeastern will continue their stretch of non-conference games when they play Ecclesia on December 18
th and Edward Waters on December 30
th.
The Fire's first home conference game in 2021 will be against Webber International on January 9
th.
Southeastern will play seven of their final twelve games on the road starting with a game at Warner on January 14
th and ending with a matchup at Thomas for their regular season finale on February 20
th.
