COLUMBIA, Ky.—Southeastern University had a pair of selections to the Mid-South Conference Sun Division Player of the Week list.
Senior linebacker
Nico Moreno was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week and
David Larson was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Moreno was the top tackler for the Fire during their 44-27 win over Campbellsville on Saturday. The senior from Fresno, Calif. had 13 total tackles and an interception in the first quarter to set up SEU's first score of the game.
Larson connected on all five of his extra point attempts, and all three field goals, succeeding from 27, 39, and 40 yards out. Additionally, the Lakeview, Mich. native hit six of his nine kickoffs into the end zone, allowing Campbellsville to start a drive obtained by kickoff beyond the 25 just twice.
This marks the sixth weekly honor for Larson and the first for Moreno.
The Fire return to action on Saturday with their first Sun Division game of the year against Ave Maria at 7 p.m.
