"I thought our special teams played extremely well today; they came up big when we needed them to with 21 of our 27 points coming on special teams," said coach
Keith Barefield. "If we didn't have our special teams playing like they did, we wouldn't be enjoying what we're enjoying right now."
The Fire offense was limited to 216 total yards and committed two turnovers.
The Fire defense also contributed, getting a pair of interceptions by junior cornerback
Chris Thompson, including one in the red zone as Point was looking to make it a two-score game in the fourth quarter.
"It was just a statement of our defense and not wanting teams to score on us," said Thompson of the defensive effort and his second interception. "Me making that play shows that I was there for my teammates and coaches."
Nico Moreno was at the top of the tackle chart with 11, including one behind the line of scrimmage.
