Box Score ATCHISON, Kansas- In what was a highly-touted early season NAIA top-five showdown, the No. 3 Southeastern University women's soccer team was edged by the No. 5 Benedictine College Ravens 4-3 in the second overtime session.
The Ravens struck first in the offensive bout, netting a goal in the seventh minute.
The Fire answered with a familiar name. Senior forward
Uchenna Kanu, the reigning NAIA-leading goal scorer, pummeled a ball into the back of the net off the foot of graduate forward
Yulie Lopez to tie things up 1-1.
BC retook the lead 2-1 with 6:54 to go in the half.
Just 54 seconds later, Kanu retaliated with her second goal of the contest, a finish of a beautiful ball in the box from freshman defender
Chloe Martin, Martin's first career assist.
This was the 33
rd multi-goal game of Kanu's collegiate career.
The Fire and the Ravens went to the half tied up 2-2.
Benedictine opened up the scoring in the second half as well, taking a 3-2 lead with 29:50 to go in the match.

Holly Eddins continued to battle in net for the Fire, recording five of her eight saves in the second half to keep it a one-goal deficit.
The equalizer finally came for SEU with under nine minutes to go in regulation. Lopez dribbled a ball into the box and finished it far post to tie things up with Benedictine 3-3.
After 90 minutes, the score remained even and the Fire and the Ravens went to overtime.
SEU and BC remained deadlocked 3-3 after the first 10-minute overtime period.
Just 37 seconds into the second overtime session, Sydney Routh scored her second goal of the night for the Ravens, this one the game-winner.
The Fire look to bounce back on the road at Evangel on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. eastern.
