LAKELAND, Fla.—
Sam Holcomb was named the Sun Conference Softball Player of the Week as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.
The senior notched hits in all four contests this week, highlighted by a pair of multi-hit performances. Holcomb batted .667, recording hits in six of nine plate appearances, while slugging .889. Over the four games, she drove in seven baserunners.
In the first competition against Ave Maria on Senior Day, Holcomb went 2-2 with three RBIs, a walk and a stolen base. The Niceville, Fla. native also registered two doubles and two runs scored on the week.
Holcomb and the Fire softball team will be back on the field when they take on Keiser in a doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitch of game one in West Palm Beach is set for 2:00 p.m.
