Box Score MOBILE, Ala.—It was a tough day at the plate for the Fire softball team, netting just two hits in a 4-0 loss to No. 8 Mobile.
The Rams got off to a fast start, getting two runs in the bottom of the first, then took advantage of two SEU errors in the second to scrape across its final two runs.
Hannah Bodenhorn threw the first five innings, allowing two earned runs and struck out seven.
Ashley Appell worked a 1-2-3 sixth.
Southeastern had its best chance in the top of the first with a one-out double by
Haleigh Harrell, but was left stranded at third.
Sam Holcomb led off the second with a double, but a fly out and back to back strikeouts ended the inning. The Fire would get just one more baserunner the rest of the contest on a walk, which was erased by a double play.
The Fire will be back in action at the Gulf Coast Invitational, starting Friday with Houston-Victoria.
