Fire Prepped for TSC Showdown at Keiser

LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 4 Southeastern University women's soccer team continues to trek on in Sun Conference play. The Fire turn their focus first to a monumental Sun Conference showdown against the No. 1 nationally-ranked Keiser University Seahawks in West Palm Beach tomorrow afternoon. On Saturday, SEU hosts Florida Memorial for Senior Night.

FIRE FOCUS:
  • The Fire are off to their first 4-0 Sun Conference start in program history.
  • SEU has outscored its opponents 28-1 to open up TSC play.
  • A total of 11 different players have found the back of the net for Southeastern in conference play.
  • Senior forward Uchenna Kanu has netted 10 of her team-leading 24 goals against TSC opponents.
  • Kanu has also registered five assists over her last four outings.
  • Senior midfielder Bania Duran has netted a goal in three-straight matches, including her first collegiate hat trick in the most recent SEU win over Webber International.

  • The Fire trail the all-time series to the Seahawks 1-9-3.
  • The last seven Southeastern-Keiser meetings have been determined by two goals or less.
  • Southeastern and Keiser were named Sun Conference Regular Season Co-Champions last season.
  • SEU leads the all-time series versus the Lions 9-1, with the only SEU loss to FMU coming in a 4-3 2 OT defeat on 10/12/13.

THE SEAHAWKS:
  • Keiser is currently riding a 10-match win streak, having scored two wins over NAIA-ranked opponents during that stretch.
  • Off to a 5-0 start in conference play, the Seahawks have outscored Sun Conference opponents 35-1 thus far.
  • After missing some time due to injury, sophomore forward Matilda Ovenberger has been a force for KU. The reigning Sun Conference Freshman of the Year has netted 12 goals in six contests since returning.
  • Senior goalkeeper Nina Haeberlin leads The Sun Conference with nine shutouts. The Krefeld, Germany native has posted a .903 save percentage, surrendering just three goals on the season.
 
THE LIONS:
  • Florida Memorial is looking for its first win on the pitch since 10/26/18 against Trinity Baptist.
  • FMU has been outscored 54-0 in its first six Sun Conference matches.
  • Three different players are responsible for the three goals the Lions have registered on the season.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Garcy Momplasir has recorded 54 saves on the season for Florida Memorial, averaging just under five saves per outing.
