Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Warren Johnson

Fire burn Warriors in Shutout Victory

Women's Soccer continues their Winning Streak

The Fire continue to assert themselves as a dominant scoring team, beating the Webber Warriors 7-0 and earning their sixth shutout victory of season.

After ten minutes of gameplay, forward Uchenna Kanu, who leads the team and the NAIA in goals, put her first goal in the net off a pass from Kristal Pesina in the box. Four more goals were scored before the twenty minute mark, three more by Uchenna and one by Summer Rusher. Afterwards, no goals were scored until 52:55, when Uchenna scored her fifth and final goal. Isabel Madson scored the game's final goal in the last minute of play, assisted by Gabriella DiDio.

The Fire kept the ball on their opponent's side of the pitch the majority of the time, and the defensive held the Warriors to just four shots, all of which were stopped by the goalie. All three goalies--Holly Eddins, Melissa Corrie, and Maddy Miller--got playing time during the match, and each of them played exemplary defense for the Fire.

The Fire will play again on October 3rd at 7:30 pm, when they play Keiser University at home
