Coming off a two game win streak on the road, the Fire return to their home field to face off against the Bethel University Wildcats. The Fire have yet to win a game at home this year, and are eager to reclaim their honor. This game also marks the first time that two nationally ranked teams will meet on the turf of Victory Field.
Â
Leading the offense, quarterback Ryder Litten has averaged 169 passing yards per game, adding up to a total of 507 yards. Wide receiver Antwain Adams and running back Tyrell Williams complete the offensive trifecta, Adams with four touchdowns and Williams with two, with both players gaining over 200 yards in three games. Bryan Bell has also made a name for himself on the team, earning 192 positive yards and recently was named the MSC Sun Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Cincinnati Christian, during which he scored two touchdowns after touching the ball only three times. As a team, the Fire have rushed for 605 yards.
Â
For the defense, linebacker Lamont Trent continues to lead the pack, with 29 total tackles and two tackles for loss. Defensive lineman Mike Mitchell still holds the lead for sacks with his one and half, for a total of ten yards lost for opposing teams. The Fire are currently ranked 6th in Pass Defense per Game, and 12th in Total Defense per Game.
Â
The Wildcats have had a very productive season, winning all of three of the games they've played, including their season opener against the then No. 2 Reinhardt University (31-21). They're looking to avenge their loss to the Fire last year (62-13).
Â
The Bethel offense is headed up by quarterback Sam Castronova, who has averaged 172 passing yards per game, and has thrown six touchdown passes. Bethel's run game has also been on point; running back De'Ontay Tate has median yardage of 89.7 yards per game, adding up to a total of 269.
Â
Defensively, linebacker Jeremy Beaulieu has a total of 22 tackles, seven of which were solo. The Wildcats are ranked 7th in Pass Defense per Game.
