Men's Soccer to face Knights and Spartans at Home

Southeastern University Fire (2-1) vs Middle Georgia State University Knights (0-2-1)

The Fire       

• The Fire walked away from the SCAD Invitational with one win and one loss, the win a shutout victory against St. Andrews and the loss to Tennessee Wesleyan, 3-2.

• Southeastern currently has twice as many goals scored than all of its opponents combined, at 8-4.

• Senior starter Bruno Henrique leads the Fire in scoring with two goals to his name.

• Goalie Jorge Navarrete Has saved the ball a total of nine times.

• In the game against Tennessee Wesleyan, the Fire played strong defense throughout the first and second half, but the winning goal for the Bulldogs came in the 86th minute of play.

• The Fire are their home pitch for the first time this Saturday as they take on the MGSU Knights  

The Knights

• Saturday's game resulted in a tie, 2-2, after a double overtime against the Point University Seahawks.

• Knights goalie Benjamin Pelz saved the ball nine times during playing time

• Victor Masvikeni and Jonathan Barragan both scored for the Knights, Barragan's goal in the 34th minute clinching the tie for the Knights

The Spartans

• The Spartans redeemed themselves in their home opener against Evangel University, after Evangel defeated them in the Spartans' 2017 home opener 1-0.

• After a scoreless first half, Victor Rada shot in the Spartans' lone goal twenty minutes into the second half.

• Freshman defender Richie Taylor was awarded "Man of the Match" for his part in thwarting the Spartans' attack. Also on the defense, goalkeeper Davide Bucarelli kept the Crusaders out of his team's goal, saving the ball twice.
