The First Pitch
  • Southeastern possesses a potent offense that ranks 11th in all of the NAIA in total hits (317).
  • As a collective unit, the Fire are hitting .307.  Haleigh Harrell leads the offensive charge with a .436 batting average.
  • Harrell has captured multiple hits in 18 of 39 games this season.
  • In the last two conference doubleheaders Ramsey Sullivan has provided solid offensive support in the middle of the Fire order.  The freshman is hitting .384 in the last four games.
  • After a masterful offensive performance against Keiser University, Brandee Piertrzak holds a 13-game hitting streak, and has reached base safely in 18 straight contests.
  • Three intricate pieces, Harrell, Pietrzak, and Sam Holcomb all possess an OPS over one.
  • Southeastern's pitching staff ranks first in all of the NAIA in total strikeouts (239).
  • The staff is nearing a milestone that has only been accomplished one other time since the program's inception.  Last season two Southeastern hurlers recorded over 100 strikeouts apiece.  Hannah Bodenhorn and Ashley Appell are about to duplicate that feat.  Bodenhorn reached the century mark on March 3rd, while Appell is just five strikeouts shy of 100.
  • The tandem holds a combined WHIP of 1.11 and batting average against just above the Mendoza Line (.206).
  • Wednesday marks the Fire's first contest against Coastal Georgia.
  • Lead by head coach Minke Minik, the Mariners are .500 this season and seated on the Sun Conference hot seat in 6th place.
  • The Mariners were shutout in their last conference doubleheader against USCB 0-3 and 0-4, respectively.
  • Brenna Wells, Paige Alt, and Savannah Money all have eclipsed 30 hits this season.
  • Wells has driven in a team leading 23 runs, collected eight doubles, and launched a pair of home runs.
  • Alt, who contributes on both sides of the ball, leads the team with five home runs and an OPS of 1.011.
  • Previously this season, Alt was named Sun Conference Player of the week hitting .833 with a walk-off home run to her credit.
  • Inside the circle Alt holds a 1.62 ERA and a WHIP of 1.29.
  • Accompanying Alt on the rubber is Chloe Boulineau.  In 70.2 innings of work, Boulineau has struck out a team high 53 batters and holds a WHIP just north of one (1.02).
  • Southeastern is 9-6 all time against USCB.
  • The Sand Sharks have won six of their last eight contests with their most recent wins coming against Coastal Georgia.
  • USCB has two wins over top-ten opponents this season (William-Carey and Brenau).  Brenau is currently ranked 13th in the nation.
  • The Sand Shark offense is hitting .304 with Taylor Boykin and Natassja Hatcher leading the group.
  • Boykin is hitting .397 with three triples, while Hatcher is hitting .385 with four home runs and 23 RBIs.
  • Hatcher was named Sun Conference Player of the Week on March 6th for hitting .700 during the PFX Spring Games.
  • Canyon Crosby pilots the Sand Shark pitching staff with an 11-2 record this season.
  • Abby Pac has also produced solid numbers inside the circle.  Pac, an All-Conference selection last year, has struckout 81 batters in 95.1 innings of work.
