Causwell Shines as Men’s Basketball falls at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga.—Southeastern junior forward Dylan Causwell was impressive in SEU's final NCAA Division I exhibition game.
 
Although the Fire were on the short end of a 90-72 game, Causwell scored a team-high 21 points, collected six rebounds, and had four steals.
 
His layup with 15:46 left in the opening half gave SEU its only lead of the game at 8-7. The Owls answered with six straight points, then answered a Taylor Breck 3-pointer with a 9-1 run to take their first double-digit lead (22-12) with 10:09 left in the first.
 
The Fire got as close as five with 1:16 left in the half on a layup by Jeremy Oppenheimer, but the Owls scored the last four points of the half to lead 37-28 at the intermission.
 
Trailing 67-43, the Fire closed the final 8:26 of regulation by outscoring KSU 29-23. Causwell had 10 of his points during that run. He finished the day 7-of-12 from the field and 6-of-7 at the free throw line.
 
Linwood Ross added 13 points, going 5-of-6 from the field, and had five rebounds. Breck finished with 11 off the bench. Oppenheimer had a team-high six assists, and had nine points and four rebounds.
