COLUMBIA, Ky.—Southeastern University senior
Dustin Peebles was named the Champion of Character Award recipient for the Mid-South Conference's Sun Division.
Peebles will be the first four-year Southeastern football player to graduate from the school's Honors Program. He has maintained a 3.89 grade-point average as a finance major and has been awarded Academic All-Conference Honors three times. Peebles served as a volunteer with Kool 2B Kind to bring anti-bullying messages to grade school students and went on a mission trip to Belize to help the locals on construction projects and outreach events.
The winners were voted by the conference's champions of character committee.
This marks the second consecutive season a player from Southeastern has won the award, and the third in program history, joining
Collin Thomas and
David Green.
The Fire went 7-3 and were co-champions of the Mid-South Sun Division.
