Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – In a game the Fire never trailed, the No. 2 Southeastern University women's basketball continued its dominant run with a 93-38 stifling of the Keiser University Seahawks. This marked the 47
th straight regular season victory and 34
th consecutive Sun Conference win for SEU.
The Fire were dialed in from the onset of the contest, turning in their most productive quarter of the game in the first period. After a Keiser jumper with 4:42 to go in the first cut the SEU lead to 10-6, Southeastern retaliated with a 20-3 run to end the period and take a 30-9 lead.
Senior guard
Ana Richter opened up the evening a perfect 5-5 from the field. Richter's 10 first half points marked the 13
th consecutive game she has reached double digits in the opening 20 minutes of action.
Active Fire hands on the defensive end created fits for the Seahawks. SEU forced 17 of KU's 26 turnovers in the first half, with 13 of those first half turnovers coming off steals.
Junior shooting guard
Jaycee Coe scored 12 of her 17 points in the first half, helping power the Fire to a 53-14 lead at the half.
SEU managed the game throughout the second half, never allowing the Seahawks to cut the deficit to less than 38 and growing its lead to as many as 58 in the fourth quarter.
The Fire outscored the Seahawks 44-16 in the paint on the night.
Richter finished the night with 20 points and 10 rebounds, notching her third double-double in her last five games. Richter and Coe were joined by
Anissa Toumi (14),
Halee Printz (12), and
Emma Karamovic (12) as the five Southeastern players who registered double digits. The 14 points for Toumi marked a season high.
