Conference Contributors:
- Timely hitting is not only important during the regular season, but imperative in conference play.
- The freshman duo of Laney Haynes and Kiah Ferrell have generated promising numbers in the first six conference contests. Prepped at Mosley High School, Haynes is hitting .400 with one home run and six RBIs. Ferrell has collected six hits in her 17 at bats. Of those hits, four have been doubles leading to an impressive slugging percentage of .588.
- After battling a lower body injury, Cheyenne Blaha made a statement in her return. In the sweep over Keiser, Blaha was 7-for-10 with two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs. The senior amassed a slugging percentage of 1.200 and an on base percentage of .700.
- The pitching tandem of Lindsie Scholwinski and Stef Guercio has been a reliable option for head Coach Anna Welsh on the weekends. Both women possess ERAs under one and have held opposing hitters to .177 and .237 batting averages, respectfully.
Scouting the Tigers:
- Dating back to last year the Tigers are currently on a 0-20 road slide. They will play two more doubleheaders against Edward Waters and Webber International before taking on the Fire.
- Ashly Westgarth leads the Tigers offense with a .339 average and four doubles. The Las Vegas, Nevada native has a knack for putting the ball in play as she has only struck out two times the whole season.
- The speedster Mariah Grijalva is a thief on the base paths leading the team with six stolen bases.
- Pitching and defense has plagued the Tigers all year long. Opposing hitters have recorded a .401 average against Tiger pitchers. The Tigers rank eighth in all of the NAIA in errors per game averaging 2.857.
Scouting the Warriors:
- The Warriors are led by head coach Brent Orr.
- There is no shortage offense throughout the Warriors lineup. Laura Borders and Meghan Lindell both contain on base percentages above .400. The two women are also hitting .375 and .353 respectively.
- Megan Isoba is a power threat right in the heart of the Warriors lineup. The junior ranks 27th in all of the NAIA in home runs with five. Isoba also leads the team with 15 RBIs.
- Inside the circle Naomi Spurgeon has recorded 22 strikeouts in 42.2 innings pitched.
- In the previous meetings with Southeastern dating back to the 2016 season, the Warriors split the doubleheader securing game two with a 4-1 victory. During the Sun Conference Tournament the Warriors sealed a 2-1 win over the Fire.
