LAKELAND, Fla. - Southeastern embarks on a three game week which entails an exhibition against a NCAA Division II opponent, the anticipated Silent Night Game, and a Sun Conference bout on the road.

THE OPENING TIP
  • Southeastern is currently riding a six game win streak, with their last loss coming in early November.  
  • Head coach R-Jay Barsh is four wins away from 100 career victories at the helm.  
  • During this six game span, CJ Reese is averaging 17 points per game.
  • The vision of Reese allows the Fire to play a selfless style of basketball.  Thus far, Reese leads the team with 34 assists.    
  • The depth of the Fire remains a hot bottom topic, and rightfully so.  While on the impressive streak, the Fire's bench is producing, on average, 22.8 points per game.  
  • The Fire are home to the Sun Conference leader in points per game, and steals per game.  Ryan Atkins leads both of these categories with 22.8 pts/g and 2.63 steals per game.  
  • Atkins is the reigning Sun Conference Player of The Week, were he posted 24 and 34-point performances.   
  • Grant Bryant's ability to clean the glass proves to be a valuable asset for the Fire.  Bryant, the transfer from the University of Tampa, currently leads the team with 50 rebounds.   
  • In the past few games, Southeastern has generated a plethora of second chance points through the rebounding efforts of Isaac Barsh.  Of Barsh's 34 boards, 20 have come on the offensive end.  
  • In all of NAIA Divison II basketball, the Fire rank eighth in scoring margin (16.00).  
  • Monday marks the first time Rollins and Southeastern will battle on the hardwood since 2011.  
  • Dating back to 2000, the first time Rollins and Southeastern met was on November 15, 2005.  In that game, Rollins were crowned victors by the score of 90-61.  
  • Sam Philpott is the Tars' leading scorer averaging 21.8 points per contest. Philpott is also shooting, a respectable, 58% from the field.  The native of Noblesville, Indiana has scored double-digit points is every contest this season.  
  • Jeff Merton and Eric Castaneda also play pivotal roles in the Tars' offensive efforts.  The tandem averages 32.2 points per game.
  • Connor Mckim is the team's leading facilitator averaging just north of five assists per game.   
  • Johnson University is coming off of a convincing 92-74 victory over Toccoa Falls College.
  • Josh Grover led all scorers against Toccoa Falls with 23 points.  He was an efficient 8-12 from the floor and 7-9 from the foul line.  
  • The native of Jacksonville, Florida, Kendall Oliver, serves as a viable option on both ends of the court.  Oliver is shooting 50% from beyond the arc and averages 3.5 rebounds per game.  
  • In last year's meeting with the Fire, the Suns suffered an 86-71 loss at home.  
  • Ave Maria is still in search of its first Sun Conference win of the season.  
  • The Gryenes are trying to snap a four game slide. 
  • Even though the Gyrenes are off to a less than fortunate start, their perimeter shooting has glistened throughout the season. The Gyrenes average 9.2 successful trifectas per contest.  This figure is sits Ave Maria 36th in all of NAIA DII basketball in 3-pt makes per game.  
  • Jovan Grujicic is a formidable rebounding force for the Gyrenes.  The center from Serbia has tallied 70 rebounds thus far.  
  • Greenan Sullivan, Stevan Krusevac, and Grujicic are all in double-digit point figures this season.  
  • The vision of Sullivan has served the Gyrenes well.  Raised in South Bend, Indiana, Sullivan leads the team with 30 assists.  
  • The last time the Fire and the Gyrenes met on February 4th, the Fire stockpiled a 90-61 victory.
