LAKELAND, Fla. - Coming off of an 96-72 victory over the University of the Virgin Islands, the Fire men's basketball team has a couple of days to prepare for a road contest in a hostile environment. The Fire will make the seven hour bus trip to Columbia, South Carolina to take on Allen University on their Homecoming night.

(RV) Southeastern will aim to keep their fundamentally sound basketball a theme as they visit Allen on Saturday.

The Fire embark on their first road contest of the 2017-18 campaign. Dating back to last year, the Fire held a 2-9 record on the road. During his tenure at Southeastern, head coach R-Jay Barsh has collected 22 road wins.

Currently, the Fire possess three double-digit scorers. Ryan Atkins, Grant Bryant, and CJ Reese all average 13-plus points per-game. Atkins leads all scorers, averaging 23 ppg.

Atkins, the native of Miami, Florida, is shooting a lights out 81% from the floor and 57% from beyond the arc.

Bryant, the transfer from the University of Tampa, crashes the boards averaging seven rebounds per game.

The in game adjustments during halftime have led the Fire to outscore their opponents in the second half 91-41.
THE YELLOW JACKETS

The Yellow Jackets currently stand at 1-0 with a shootout win over Morris college, 110-104.

Allen is led by head coach Nelson Jones in his third season. Jones drove the Yellow Jackets to a 15-16 2016-2017 season.

Quincy Washington and Brandon Moore are the scoring threats for Allen scoring 28 and 27 points in their opening game, respectively.

As a freshman, Moore led the Yellow Jackets in scoring, averaging 17.8 points per game in 18 contests.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Yellow Jackets return Demetrius Richardson. The junior forward is a ball magnet, managing a team leading 46 steals last season.
