Hooker’s Career High Helps Drive Fire to Victory

LAKELAND, Fla. - Bailey Hooker's career high game cemented a 90-55 Southeastern victory over the Webber International University Warriors.

From tip off, the Fire women were in control of the game.  While it was not the cleanest first half of basketball, the Fire maintained the lead throughout the entire contest and dominated in every facet of play.

Tonight Bailey Hooker was electrifying for the Fire.   The native of Lutz, Florida assembled a career high in points, field goals, and three pointers.  Hooker finished with a game high 33 points.  Whenever Hooker was open, her teammates found a way to get the basketball in her hands, as she shot 50% from both the floor and beyond the three-point arc.

Christin Strawbridge, Ana Richter, and Alyssa Ramos all played intricate roles in tonight's Fire win.   Strawbridge, the native of Lakeland, Florida, scored 12 points and collected nine rebounds.  Richter also completed the game with 12 points, and the Sun Conference leader in steals added four more to her season total this evening.

The Fire's facilitator, Ramos, saw the entire floor and dished out passes left and right.  The native of Carlsbad, California ended the game with six assists.

Turnovers plagued the Warriors all night.  The Fire generated 23 points off of 22 Warriors' turnovers.  The Warriors' Jakia Davis' 16 points, although respectable, were not enough for Webber International University to overcome Bailey Hooker and the Fire of Southeastern.

The Fire will be back in action next week, Thursday, January 26, 2017,  when they travel to Thomasville, Georgia to take on Thomas University a 8 p.m.
