Men’s Soccer Drops Third Road Game

HATTIESBURG, Miss.—Yet to play a game on their home pitch, the Fire men's soccer team dropped a tough road match to William Carey University by the count of 3-2.

Three goals by Chance Bourdene of the Crusaders moved them to 3-2 on the season. WCU got goals in the 14th, 63rd, and 67th minutes of the game.

Trailing 1-0 at the intermission, senior captain Pedro Ivo Dias found the back of the net to tie the game. Bourdene was able to answer twice to regain the lead.

Jake Luff tried to move momentum back the way of the guests with a goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Tauan Salgado, but the Fire were unable to get another equalizer.

Southeastern was outshot 10-6, but had nine corner kick opportunities with seven in the first 45 minutes of play.

The Fire return to action on Saturday in the NAIA National Game of the Week against the University of Mobile at 7 p.m. Central Time.
