LAKELAND, Fla.—The Southeastern University put a halt to its two-game slide with a convincing win over Trinity College at home Tuesday night.
The Fire hit .294 as a team, which included 13 kills and just one error in the first set in a straight sets (25-10, 25-13, 25-10) win over Trinity.
Southeastern won the first 12 rallies of the night with three of those points coming on aces by senior
Lydia Rooth. She finished the night with six kills, six aces, eight digs, and assisted on one of SEU's eight blocks on the night.
Uche Kojo had four of her team-best seven kills in the second set. The junior hit .636 and added four solo blocks to the effort.
The Fire jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the third set behind the final three aces by Rooth, and three kills by
Kelsey Morton, who totaled seven on a .222 attacking percentage.
Alyssa Prescott paced the defense with a game-best 18 digs. Additionally, Trinity was held to a -.053 attacking percentage, totaling 18 kills and 20 errors.
Lindsey Fleming (11),
Natalie Anderson (10), and
Hannah Kinlaw (10) were all in double figures in assists.
The Fire are back to Sun Conference play Wednesday evening against Ave Maria at 7 p.m. at home.
